Impoving your academics

This post was shared earlier but mistakenly wiped off.. here it is again

TIPS TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR GRADES Assuming its halfway through the semester and you see your tests scores or its the end of the semester and you see your results and you didn’t do well as you thought or maybe just looking at the result makes you sad. Either way do not give up hope you can still turn around or improve your grades over the rest of the semester. Here are a couple of habits that you should integrate into your academics to improve your chances of success.
1. Start projects or assignments right away Make it a habit to start working immediately on your projects and assignments because this enables you to put part of your brain to work on ideas and problems and the flow of ideas.

2. keep an ear out for extra opportunities At times some lecturers like students who give lengthy answers to questions to explaining step by step, writing a long story. Some others like students with good hand writing etc all these things can fetch extra marks.

3. Breakdown your academic goals into smaller steps For example if you have made up your mind to make an A in all your courses, think of smaller steps you can take towards the larger goal. By breaking it down into smaller more easily achievable goals such as “ I will visit the library more” “I will do my findings on any topic before it is taught” “finish all my work each night or “review the work of the previous week each weekend”, you are more likely to achieve your goals.

4. Associate with people who exhibit the qualities you would like to develop Basically surround yourself with high performing students and observe their habits and see what you can replicate. Obviously you aren’t going to drop everything and join them, but you should be aware of other people and try to duplicate the qualities that make them better students. Above all put God first in all of your endeavours. He is the greatest teacher and he alone can give divine help and intervention you need in your academic lives.
